Ah! Yes, the old question: what holds a community together? Approached in another fashion: what is Europe?
But talk of values will never suffice. Christianity is not a series of ideas. Christianity is a life, held precious as received from God and lived as belonging to God. From this conscience of the supernatural arise healthy institutions that conform to human nature, and societies where a correct understanding of liberty permits human thriving.
A life all about the pursuit of pleasure, and the flight from suffering, does not children beget!
